{"id":30280,"date":"2026-07-09T08:36:58","date_gmt":"2026-07-09T08:36:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=30280"},"modified":"2026-07-09T08:36:58","modified_gmt":"2026-07-09T08:36:58","slug":"july-9th-chronological-bible-readings-chronological-bible-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=30280","title":{"rendered":"July 9th Chronological Bible Readings \u2013 Chronological Bible Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Psalm 105; Psalm 106<\/strong><\/span><br \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">~ Click here to read today\u2019s Scripture on Bible Gateway ~<\/span><\/em><br \/><span style=\"color: black\"><em>~ Listen to today\u2019s Scripture with <\/em><em>The ESV Bible<\/em><\/span> ~<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Psalm 105 verse 4 stood out to me today \u2013<em> \u201cSearch for the LORD and for his strength, and keep on searching.\u201d<\/em> I like that \u2013 search!\u00a0 If you search for God, he will indeed be found.\u00a0 Have you ever searched for God?\u00a0 And for his strength?\u00a0 Are you maybe searching now?\u00a0 Do you believe he will be found?\u00a0 Will you keep on searching?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Verses 8 &amp; 9 remind us of this character of God: <em>\u201cHe always stands by his covenant\u2013 the commitment he made to a thousand generations. This is the covenant he made with Abraham and the oath he swore to Isaac.\u201d<\/em> The covenant continues today through the new covenant (testament) brought to us through Jesus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Psalm 105\u2019s verses today give us a good Cliff Notes version of the end of the book of Genesis and beginning of the book of Exodus!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Psalm 105 wraps up with a great closing verse 45 \u2013<em> \u201cAll this happened so they would follow his principles and obey his laws.\u00a0 Praise the LORD!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0Indeed, praise the Lord!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Psalm 106 is a repentive Psalm, likely written by a Levitical priest after returning to Jerusalem after its destruction.\u00a0 Verse 2 stood out to me today \u2013 <em>\u201cWho can list the glorious miracles of the LORD? Who can ever praise him half enough?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Can you list all of the glorious miracles of God?\u00a0 Can anyone?\u00a0 Are you praising God today?\u00a0 Every day?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Verse 3 is powerful-<em> \u201cHappy are those who deal justly with others and always do what is right.\u201d <\/em>I think this is such an important thing to know \u2013 we will be happy when we deal justly with others and when we do what is right.\u00a0 This is happiness.\u00a0 Not money or fame or power or luxuries.\u00a0 Dealing justly with others and doing what is right is happiness.\u00a0 So, Biblically, are you happy?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Today in Psalm 106:19-21 we read: <em>\u201cAt Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal. They exchanged their Glory for an image of a bull, which eats grass. They forgot the God who saved them, who had done great things in Egypt.\u201d<\/em> This of course sounds very familiar to Romans chapter 1 verses 22 and 23: <em>\u201cAlthough they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Was this wise that the Israelites exchanged their Glory for an image of a bull?\u00a0 Why did they do this?\u00a0 What should have been their Glory? What is your Glory today?\u00a0 Do you, at times, exchange your true Glory for something else?\u00a0 Is this wise?\u00a0 Are you forgetting the God who saved you? The God who has done great things for you?\u00a0 Please don\u2019t ever exchange the true Glory for a false idol!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Verse 13 in this Psalm also stands out:<em> \u201cYet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn\u2019t wait for his counsel!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Is this true of us?\u00a0 Do we forget or take for granted all of the blessings God has poured out into our lives?\u00a0 In doing so, do we decide to take matters into our own hands \u2013 not waiting on God\u2019s counsel for our direction?\u00a0 Will we remember?\u00a0 Will we wait?\u00a0 Patiently\u2026?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Psalm 106 verse 39 stood out to me today, speaking about the Israelites: <em>\u201cThey defiled themselves by their evil deeds, and their love of idols was adultery in the LORD\u2019s sight.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 I think this Psalm verse stands the test of time with our modern world today.\u00a0 Do you believe that we still defile ourselves with our evil deeds today?\u00a0 Do you believe that our love of idols is adultery in God\u2019s sight?\u00a0 How can we stop defiling ourselves with evil deeds and stop loving idols in our modern world today?\u00a0 Who can save us from ourselves?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Worship Video:<\/strong> Today\u2019s readings in Psalms 105 &amp; 106 today remind me of Laura Story\u2019s song \u201cBlessings:\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">What if your blessings come through raindrops?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Click here for the most amazing blessing you could ever imagine!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Comments from You:<\/strong>\u00a0 What verses or insights stand out to you in today\u2019s readings?\u00a0 Please post up by clicking on the \u201cComments\u201d link below!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">God bless,<br \/>Mike<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">p.s.
