{"id":30602,"date":"2026-07-21T09:27:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-21T09:27:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=30602"},"modified":"2026-07-21T09:27:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T09:27:14","slug":"july-21st-chronological-bible-readings-chronological-bible-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=30602","title":{"rendered":"July 21st Chronological Bible Readings \u2013 Chronological Bible Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>2 Kings 19:1-19; Isaiah 37:1-20; 2 Chronicles 32:9-19; 2 Kings 19:20-37; Isaiah 37:21-38; 2 Chronicles 32:20-23<\/strong><\/span><br \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">~ Click here to read today\u2019s Scripture on Bible Gateway ~<\/span><\/em><br \/><span><em>~ Listen to today\u2019s Scripture with <\/em><em>The ESV Bible<\/em><\/span> ~<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>Great readings in Isaiah featuring King Hezekiah today!\u00a0 You\u2019ll recall from yesterday\u2019s readings that King Sennacherib of Assyria\u2019s representative threw down some serious trash-talking at the walls of Jerusalem.\u00a0 (see yesterday\u2019s blog entry below).\u00a0 Well today in chapter 37 we read about Hezekiah seeking the Lord\u2019s help.\u00a0 Hezekiah takes all of this to God in prayer.\u00a0 Good move!\u00a0 How often in our lives today, when challenges come our way, do we take the challenges everywhere else BUT to God?\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t it be easier to take them directly to God?\u00a0 Why do we turn to alcohol or drugs or food or worrying or _______ (fill in your blank here) when we can simply take our challenges to the one true living God who can actually do something with them?\u00a0 Will you model what Hezekiah did when he received distressing news from the King of Assyria, in verses 14 through 17:<em> \u201cAfter Hezekiah received the letter and read it, he went up to the LORD\u2019s Temple and spread it out before the LORD. And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the LORD: \u201cO LORD Almighty, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth. Listen to me, O LORD, and hear! Open your eyes, O LORD, and see! Listen to Sennacherib\u2019s words of defiance against the living God.\u201d<\/em><\/span><br \/><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>Well, Hezekiah\u2019s prayer is clearly answered as we read in verse 36: <em>\u201cThat night the angel of the LORD went out to the Assyrian camp and killed 185,000 Assyrian troops.
