The longtime liberal host spent his closing segment proving that the DSA has openly embraced communism, and the Democratic Party is letting it happen. \u201cDonald Trump has told one trillion lies, but when he says the Democratic Socialists of America are actually communist, that\u2019s not one of them,\u201d Maher said in a clip he posted online.\n<\/p>\n
Maher didn\u2019t spin or exaggerate. He just quoted DSA leaders word for word. He showed how their platform copies Karl Marx directly. He pointed out that New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani once posted Marx\u2019s exact words on social media. He highlighted a group called the Marxist Unity Group that now has real power inside the DSA and openly says its goal is a classless society\u2014\u201din a word, communism.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
Then came the moment that left the room silent. Maher read a social media post from Cea Weaver, one of Mamdani\u2019s top aides, telling voters to support communist candidates. The audience went quiet. \u201cYes. Good, I\u2019m glad you\u2019re shocked,\u201d Maher said. \u201cPeople got to realize this is going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
Maher spoke bluntly about what he sees as an ideological shift in his own party. He pointed to a centrist \u201cPromise to America\u201d pledge that affirmed capitalism over socialism. According to him, barely any lawmakers were willing to sign\u2014Newsweek counted 10 House members and five candidates, led by Reps. Tom Suozzi and Adam Gray, but Maher\u2019s broader point stood: the center of the party isn\u2019t pushing back.\n<\/p>\n
Maher has been hinting at this shift for months. He first brought it up in June when he talked with Vice President JD Vance, then went deeper in an interview with ABC\u2019s Jonathan Karl, The Washington Times reported. Former Florida prosecutor Dave Aronberg told Fox News that the DSA\u2019s growing influence could hurt Democrats in November\u2019s elections.\n<\/p>\n
Maher ended with a blunt comparison: he\u2019d rather vote for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin than any Democrat backed by the DSA. He called her a \u201cbimbo,\u201d but added that at least she could name something she loves about America\u2014a dig at DSA candidates who, in his view, can\u2019t.\n<\/p>\n
For Christians, this isn\u2019t just politics\u2014it\u2019s a warning sign. Proverbs 14:12 says, \u201cThere is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.\u201d Communism\u2019s history speaks for itself: over 100 million people killed in the 1900s, believers thrown in prison for their faith, families torn apart, and God-given freedoms crushed. When a major American political party lets Marxist ideas take root, it\u2019s not just a disagreement about policy\u2014it\u2019s a crisis of right and wrong. The Bible calls believers to \u201cexpose deeds of darkness\u201d (Ephesians 5:11) and stand up for the dignity and freedom that come from being made in God\u2019s image. Ignoring communist ideas creeping into one of our two major parties isn\u2019t being tolerant\u2014it\u2019s being careless.\n<\/p>\n
The DSA isn\u2019t hiding anymore\u2014they\u2019re saying it out loud, and even Bill Maher\u2019s liberal crowd was shocked. Don\u2019t let them rebrand communism as \u201cprogress.\u201d Share this article, talk to the people you know, and make sure voters understand exactly what they\u2019re voting for when they back DSA candidates.
