Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced another series of arrests targeting illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes, including murder, child sexual assault, kidnapping, and robbery. \u201cWhile Americans were enjoying their weekend, ICE law enforcement was arresting murderers, pedophiles, rapists, kidnappers, and other criminal illegal aliens across the country,\u201d a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
ICE agents also arrested several child predators, including Juan Escobar-Herrera of Honduras, convicted of sexual assault of a child under 12 years old in Opelika, Alabama; Aung Lwin of Burma, convicted of sexual assault on a child in Omaha, Nebraska; and Bruno Efren Santos-Gonzalez of Ecuador, convicted of sexual intercourse with a child in Los Angeles, California.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe men and women of ICE work every single day to remove dangerous criminals like these from our communities and make America safe again,\u201d the spokesperson said. \u201cWith these criminals off our streets and out of our country, it\u2019s no wonder that crime rates have reached record lows under the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n
Among those arrested was Juan Mauricio Castillo of El Salvador, who was previously convicted of homicide in Nevada. ICE also detained individuals convicted of first-degree sexual assault, second-degree rape, aggravated battery, armed robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, assault with a deadly weapon, and other serious offenses. The arrests spanned multiple states and involved convicted criminals from countries across Latin America, Asia, and the Caribbean.\n<\/p>\n
The operation reflects the administration\u2019s continued emphasis on prioritizing the removal of illegal aliens with criminal convictions. Since returning to office, President Trump has directed federal agencies to expand immigration enforcement, increase detention capacity, and accelerate the deportation of individuals deemed threats to public safety. DHS officials have repeatedly argued that focusing enforcement resources on violent offenders protects communities while reinforcing the rule of law.\n<\/p>\n
