The president\u2019s security team reportedly told Trump to hide inside a catering truck in order to board the new plane, which was different than the one widely reported.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cI go by Secret Service and the military. They wanted me to go in a different flight, different plane,\u201d Trump told reporters of sneaking off the plane, according to the Associated Press. \u201cI just have to do what they say.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump had traveled to Ankara for a NATO summit aboard a plane gifted to him by Qatar, intended for use as Air Force One. Officials publicly stated that Trump would depart Turkey on an older presidential aircraft due to security concerns, a plan that appears to have been part of a broader effort to protect the president amid ongoing tensions with Iran.
