<\/p>\n
Just when you thought the lies of the Left couldn\u2019t get any worse, or any bigger, the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) kicks it up a notch. Megan Romer, co-chair of the DSA, was interviewed recently by David Remnick on The New Yorker Radio Hour <\/em>podcast, where she was dumbfounded when asked to explain her own words.\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe (the DSA) believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires,\u201d<\/em> Romer emphatically stated.\n<\/p>\n The host shot back, \u201cWell, what does taxing the hell out of them mean?\u201d <\/em>\n<\/p>\n Instead of giving a specific answer, Romer chuckled and responded, \u201cUgh, yeah. You know, again, I don\u2019t have, like, a solid\u2026\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n As she stumbled through her response, Remnick interrupted, asking, \u201cBut shouldn\u2019t you?\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n This question puzzled Romer, who admitted, \u201cUmmmmm, That\u2019s a good question.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Romer\u2019s shallow, vague answer revealed one of the DSA\u2019s biggest lies about taxing the rich. While proponents tout, \u201cWe must start by building the <\/em>narrative<\/em> that taxing the rich is foundational to both American democracy and our common goal of equity,\u201d<\/em> the truth is that they have no concrete idea of how they will make that happen. Their words are nothing more than the rhetoric of Karl Marx, who in the Communist Manifesto<\/em>, advocated for \u201ca heavy progressive, or graduated income tax,\u201d as well as the \u201cabolition of all rights of inheritance.\u201d\n<\/p>\n The host of the podcast could tell that Romer was grasping for straws. He pressed her for details. \u201cIf you\u2019re the co-chair of the DSA, shouldn\u2019t you be more specific than just taxing the hell out of something? What exactly do you mean?\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n From there, the gobbledygook became thick. \u201cSo again, it\u2019s democracy, right? And we have to look at what we have to spend and what we need. We don\u2019t want to depend on the existence of millionaires because that means people are still getting exploited. So yeah, we need to look at what we need to pay for in the interim, what sort of tax base we need for that to happen, and build from there,\u201d <\/em>suggested Romer.\n<\/p>\n DSA enthusiasts love using the word \u201cexploitation,\u201d but all of their ideas, such as open borders, abolishing the police, eliminating prisons, and redistributing wealth, will exploit the safety and rights of the American people. When Romer asserts, \u201cwe need to look at what we need to pay for in the interim,\u201d<\/em> what she\u2019s saying is, how much money will we have to steal from hard-working citizens?<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Host David Remnick also questioned Romer about the DSA\u2019s position on supporting or helping Israel. The unabashed DSA co-chair had no problems stating, \u201cNo defense or economic support for Israel.\u201d <\/em>Remnick also asked if Israel has a right to defend itself and if the DSA supports a two-state solution, or a binational, one-state solution. Romer explained, \u201cOur position is a free Palestine with a capital in Jerusalem, so I think that could be safely read as a one-state solution.\u201d <\/em>When Remnick pressed Romer to define what that looked like, she became tongue-tied, claiming that she needed to look into the specifics. From there, she suggested that Israel\u2019s right to safety is suspect anyway because they are \u201ccommitting genocide.\u201d <\/em>\n<\/p>\n Romer\u2019s views on Israel became even clearer when she was asked about New York Congressional primary winner Darializa Avila Chevalier, an avowed DSA member who attended a pro-Palestinian, pro-Hamas rally the day after the October 7th attacks in Israel. Remnick inquired if she supported Chevalier\u2019s actions, to which she said, \u201cYes, I do.\u201d<\/em> When asked if she would have gone to the rally if she were able, Romer unapologetically responded, \u201cI probably would have.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Remnick probed further, giving her a chance to think about her prior response. \u201cOne day after the slaughter of 1,200 people and the taking of over 200 hostages, you would have come and rallied behind Hamas?\u201d<\/em> An unfazed Romer declared, \u201cI think that October 7th was largely inevitable. If you put people in an open-air concentration camp and you deprive them of rights, dignity, food, and the ability to live in safety, you have to expect that they are not going to take that for that long.\u201d\u00a0 <\/em>\n<\/p>\n The lies in Romer\u2019s responses are numerous. While she claims that Palestinians live in an \u201copen-air concentration camp,\u201d without rights, dignity, food, and safety, the truth is that the terror group Hamas creates the very conditions that she describes. Money and resources that could be used to help people are instead diverted toward building terror tunnels underground and funding acts of violence. Additionally, Hamas hoards food and supplies while its people live in poverty.\n<\/p>\n The ruling authorities in Gaza follow Islam, a religion and system of governance that establishes itself through Sharia law, and rewards those who commit acts of rape, torture, and murder against Jews and infidels. Safety and dignity cannot co-exist in an environment where rights are controlled by terrorists whose own religion declares that they can lie, steal, and massacre at will.\n<\/p>\n Romer\u2019s argument that October 7th was inevitable is evidence of a person who is not only irrational but also sides with Nazi-like behavior. The utter depravity of Hamas\u2019s war crimes has been thoroughly documented with evidence so heinous that most people cannot even read through the reports. The Israeli citizens who were brutally murdered are the victims of a bloodthirsty, genocidal regime, not the Palestinians. The truth is that the DSA has aligned with Islam and Hamas for one reason: to destroy Western civilization. Romer has already made the intentions of the DSA crystal clear: \u201cWe must dismantle, piece by piece and with great haste.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n As the DSA and its representatives continue to sow confusion and spread lies, it\u2019s time for intercessors to pray with great vigilance and authority. Younger generations are being wooed by promises of \u201cfreebies\u201d and a utopia where no one works harder than they want. Ultimately, all this Marxist agenda can offer is a dystopia of destruction and death.\n<\/p>\n Lord Jesus, the DSA props itself up as an organization that fights for democracy, but we know that everything they stand for goes against biblical principles. We pray that their plans would be confused and scattered, and their leaders would continue to be exposed for who they really are.
