Once again in verse 30 of chapter 22 of Ezekiel we see God\u2019s compassion and God seeking an opportunity to stop the coming judgment: \u201cI looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn\u2019t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.\u201d <\/em>No one was found\u2026\u00a0 This verse makes me think about this \u2013 sometimes I think we tell ourselves, \u201cWhat difference does it make?\u00a0 What difference does it make if I\u2019m good or bad?\u00a0 What difference does it make if I serve and love others in need?\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0Check out verse 30 above again.\u00a0 Think one person could have made a difference then?\u00a0 What about now?\u00a0 Will you make a difference today?\u00a0 Will you stand in the gap?<\/span><\/p>\n

Ezekiel chapter 23 is interesting in its use of prostitution and lust as the metaphors for Israel\u2019s political alliances with neighboring lands.\u00a0 My thoughts here are that we live in a \u201csexualized\u201d world in so many ways today \u2013 and perhaps things weren\u2019t so different back then.\u00a0 Sex is obviously something that was created as a good by God \u2013 but can so quickly and easily be twisted into something that is not good.\u00a0 \u00a0Sex is good in the right context of marriage.\u00a0 Detrimental in the wrong.\u00a0 It seems to me that lust and the selling of sex was as prevalent back in Ezekiel\u2019s today as it is in ours.\u00a0 To which we may need to remember well Paul\u2019s words in 1 Corinthians 6:18 \u2013 \u201cFlee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 And of course James 4:7 \u2013 \u201cResist the devil, and he will flee from you.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 Is there an area of our lives related to sex that you must flee from?\u00a0 Will you flee?<\/span><\/p>\n
