Once upon a time\u2014not so long ago\u2014the Girl Scouts were an American institution synonymous with service and wholesomeness. Their slogan, \u201cDo a good turn daily,\u201d<\/em> meant that young girls around the nation would make a difference by helping others through community involvement and neighborly deeds.\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Nowadays, it\u2019s hard to recognize the once-beloved organization that families trusted to influence their young girls. Over the years, they\u2019ve embraced liberal ideologies such as LGBTQ Pride Month. Their website playfully boasts, \u201cCelebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month by having fun learning about all the <\/em>communities<\/em> it represents while earning a <\/em>new patch<\/em>.\u201d <\/em>Abortion is a slippery slope as well because even though Girl Scouts USA insists they don\u2019t support it, they help fund the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), a global organization that actively advocates for abortion. The sad truth is that the Girl Scouts sell much more than cookies.\n<\/p>\n While the Girl Scouts organization promotes itself as a beacon of multiculturalism and a \u201csafe space\u201d for girls, their actions show they\u2019re more interested in being inclusive than doing what\u2019s right. Their latest endeavors revolve around young girls learning the pillars of Islam. While this is not part of the official Girl Scout curriculum, and troops are not required to participate, a recent investigation revealed that there\u2019s \u201ca nationwide pattern of Girl Scout troops based at mosques incorporating Islamic prayer, Quranic instruction, and lessons on hijab.\u201d All of this is being conducted under the Girl Scout banner.\n<\/p>\n White House correspondent Natalie Winters did a deep dive into just how often this may be occurring within the Girl Scout community. Her investigation showed that mosque-based troops in several states were integrating Islamic values and teachings into their programs.\n<\/p>\n Winters\u2019 investigation highlights a 2025 event held by Girl Scout Troop 972 at the Salam Islamic Center in Sacramento, California, called World Thinking Day<\/em>. The Girl Scout who organized the event said she wished to share the mosque with the \u201cbroader Girl Scout community.\u201d\n<\/p>\n SALAM\u2019s Girl Scout Islamic outreach event included mosque tours and an \u201cinformative booth about Palestine\u201d in order to \u201cfoster empathy.\u201d Girls were even invited to try on hijabs so they could learn about \u201cthe significance of modesty.\u201d An article celebrating World Thinking Day at SALAM explained, \u201cThis event was a perfect reminder of the values of inclusivity and respect that Girl Scouts aim to uphold.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n The mosque has a page on its website titled \u201cSalam Girl Scouts,\u201d<\/em> which features pictures of Girl Scouts wearing their uniforms and holding up signs. One shows President Donald Trump depicted as a baby with the words \u201cThe Only Baby We Should Jail.\u201d <\/em>Others say, \u201cI Believe in the Power of the Voice of Women,\u201d<\/em> and \u201cEmbracing Diversity.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n While this idea of meshing Islam with the Girl Scouts would appear to be a new idea, the truth is that a 2009 annual report from the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California <\/em>revealed that four Girl Scout troops with at least 30 girls had been meeting at SALAM and incorporated Girl Scouting into the mosque\u2019s youth programming. Ramadan sleepovers, which involved fasting and girls \u201cpraying through the night,\u201d were emphasized. One of the leaders of Troop 972 openly admitted: \u201cWe just incorporate our religion into the framework that the Girl Scouts provides.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/em>The National Islamic Committee on Girl Scouting webpage provides a detailed framework for how girls can earn Ramadan Goal Achiever patches, as well as Hajj, Jumma, and Salah patches. Other honors include the In the Name of Allah Award, Share Ramadan with a Friend patch, and the Qurat ul Ain Award.\n<\/p>\n Girl Scout troops in other places have been infiltrated by Islam\u2019s teachings as well. The Islamic Center of Naperville, Illinois, welcomes K-12 troops to have meetings on the first Friday of each month. The ICN calls itself a \u201cplace where our children can grow up with the Qur\u2019an in their hearts, minds, and actions,\u201d <\/em>and their goal is to \u201cequip the future generation with values and ethics of the Qur\u2019an.\u201d <\/em>\n<\/p>\n The Islamic Center of Long Island hosts Girl Scout troops K-12 and proclaims \u201cour troops here at ICLI since 2005 are unique because we stand shoulder to shoulder with our Muslim sisters\u2026the scout activities promote Islamic values, self-esteem, and provide a safe environment under the peaceful light of Islam. Combining Islamic education with scout activity is our prime goal.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n The All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAM) in Sterling, Virginia, \u201c<\/em>incorporates<\/em> Islamic traditions to enable girls to understand how to successfully balance success and growth in life without compromising their faith, including celebrating Islamic holidays together and having the opportunity to earn the Islam patch.\u201d <\/em>\n<\/p>\n The Mecca Center of Willowbrook, Illinois, states that its Girl Scout troop is all about \u201cfemale empowerment,\u201d <\/em>and \u201c<\/em>t<\/em>he Girl Scout Promise is all about kindness, integrity, and giving back to the world, which are all values integrated from our Islamic beliefs and the beautiful character of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace and Blessings Be upon Him.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Prince George\u2019s Muslim Association (PGMA) Girl Scouts of Lanham, Maryland, is a \u201cmulti-level Girl Scout troop that meets every other Friday. At meetings, girls are required to wear khaki pants, a white top, tennis shoes, and a white hijab.\n<\/p>\n Other troops based at mosques include Masid At-Taqwa in Brooklyn, New York, the Muslim Community Center East Bay in California, the Islamic Center of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, the Islamic Center of Boca Raton, FL., and the Islamic Center of Yorba Linda in California.\n<\/p>\n Though the Girl Scouts organization identifies itself as secular, its website features a page titled Girl Scouts and Faith<\/em>, which states, \u201cEverything in Girl Scouting is based on the Girl Scout Promise and Law, which includes many of the principles and values common across religions. So, while we are a secular organization, Girl Scouts has always encouraged girls to take spiritual journeys via their faiths\u2019 religious recognitions.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Girl Scouts can earn a \u201cMy Promise, My Faith\u201d pin, which complements\u00a0existing religious recognitions and allows girls to further strengthen their connection between their faith and Girl Scouts. Once each year, a girl can earn the My Promise, My Faith pin by carefully examining the Girl Scout Law and tying it directly to the tenets of her faith.\u201d<\/em> Religious institutions or organizations that choose to partner in this way can create medals and pins which can be awarded to girls who meet conditions set forth by their \u201cfaith community.\u201d All religions (faiths) are allowed to participate, but activities must be coordinated by faith partners (churches, mosques, synagogues, temples) and local troop members.\n<\/p>\n Girl Scouts also provides a resource sheet with sample prayers for girls who decide to plan a \u201cGirl Scouts Celebrate Faith service.\u201d<\/em> The prayer for Muslim Girl Scouts states, \u201cIn the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful. Look with compassion on the whole human family; remove from us the arrogance, divisions, and hatred that have infected our hearts; break down the walls that separate us; reunite us in bonds of love; and guide us as we work through our struggle and confusion to accomplish your purposes on earth; that, in your good time, all nations and races may <\/em>jointly serve you in justice, peace, and harmony. AMEN.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n There are also prayers listed for Hindu, Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, and Native American Girl Scouts.\n<\/p>\n \u201cThe Constitution of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America declares that \u2018the motivating force in Girl Scouting is spiritual.\u2019\u201d<\/em> The Girl Scouts organization maintains that it does not promote one religion over another, as these programs are articulated by the religious institutions, not the Girl Scouts USA entity.\n<\/p>\n The Girl Scouts website displays a page titled Muslim Girl Scouts <\/em>Extend<\/em> Friendship and Fun Across Cultures,<\/em> which focuses on hateful attitudes that have been directed at Muslim Girl Scouts. To rectify this trend, troop leaders have organized open mosque days where families can get to know them to see \u201cwhat Islam is really about.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Winters\u2019 investigation into Islam and the Girl Scouts set off a wave of comments on social media. Political commentator Laura Ingraham wrote, \u201cAnother traditional American organization\u2026gone,\u201d <\/em>while Turning Point USA posted, \u201cNothing says Girl Scouts of America like learning the pillars of Islam.\u201d \u00a0<\/em>\n<\/p>\n One user declared, \u201cUnder Islam, Girl Scouts would not be allowed to exist.\u201d<\/em> Another questioned, \u201cDid they tell the GSA how Islam treats women? I doubt it.\u201d<\/em> One woman reacted, \u201cJust removed the granddaughter from GS, she will do 4H instead.\u201d<\/em>\n<\/p>\n Many commenters stated an obvious point. The Girl Scouts organization prides itself on \u201cempowering girls\u201d in order to build \u201ccourage, confidence, and character.\u201d Islam and its holy books, however, do the opposite. The Prophet Muhammad viewed women as \u201clesser beings.\u201d Surah 4 of the Qur\u2019an\u00a0condones wife beating and gives permission for men to have sex with \u201cthose they possess\u201d (sex slaves). Moreover, on his supposed trip to Hell, Muhammad stated that it was mostly filled with women who were ungrateful to their husbands. Even more telling is that Sharia Law, the extensive legal code of Islam, clearly dictates a hierarchy of men over women and strips women of their rights. In some countries where Islam rules, something as simple as dancing in public or tweeting an opinion\u00a0can get a woman sent to prison. While all of these details are enough for the Girl Scouts of America to steer clear of Islam, they choose to celebrate it.\n<\/p>\n The Islamification of America is a real threat. An unlikely, but effective alliance between Left-wing groups and Islam is helping its influence to spread across the country. Girl Scouts USA has already embraced liberalism, and so its latest affiliation with Islam and its teachings is not surprising. While the tenets of Islam run counter to many \u201cprogressive\u201d ideas, this is simply a means to an end\u2013an underhanded way to attack Western society and American culture. Whether it\u2019s the LGBTQ agenda, abortion, or the \u201cPalestinian cause,\u201d some Islamic leaders are more than willing to use the Girl Scouts\u2019 name to promote a religion and governmental system that propagates conquest and violence around the world.\n<\/p>\n The girls in these troops are not to blame. In fact, these sweet young girls need our prayers. The problem lies in the core beliefs behind Islam and the leaders who wish to embed its values into the American way of life. Unfortunately, this is being done under the guise of inclusivity and multiculturalism.\n<\/p>\n Lord Jesus, we pray that the Girl Scouts organization would reject liberal values and sever its ties with Islam. We pray for godly leaders to revamp Girl Scouts USA, making it less about politics and more about helping young girls become honorable, courageous, and passionate leaders.
