{"id":32362,"date":"2026-09-21T07:32:43","date_gmt":"2026-09-21T07:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=32362"},"modified":"2026-09-21T07:32:43","modified_gmt":"2026-09-21T07:32:43","slug":"september-21st-chronological-bible-readings-chronological-bible-blog","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=32362","title":{"rendered":"September 21st Chronological Bible Readings \u2013 Chronological Bible Blog"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Nehemiah 11:1-12:26; 1 Chronicles 9:1-34<\/strong><\/span><br \/><em><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">~ Click here to read today\u2019s Scripture on Bible Gateway ~<\/span><\/em><br \/><span style=\"color: black\"><em>~ Listen to today\u2019s Scripture with <\/em><em>The ESV Bible<\/em><\/span> ~<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span>Today in Nehemiah chapter 11 we read about the people of Israel occupying Jerusalem \u2013 and not necessarily by their own choice!\u00a0 Lots had to be thrown to determine which 1 out of every 10 people in rural areas would move to Jerusalem.\u00a0 Verses 1 &amp; 2 tell us: <em>\u201cNow the leaders of the people were living in Jerusalem, the holy city, at this time. A tenth of the people from the other towns of Judah and Benjamin were chosen by sacred lots to live there, too, while the rest stayed where they were. And the people commended everyone who volunteered to resettle in Jerusalem.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 I read an interesting commentary that speculated that some people did not want to move to Jerusalem from the countryside because it would mean they would have to more stringently follow God with their lives.\u00a0 This would be due to social pressures of living in Jerusalem and proximity to the Temple.\u00a0 And this made me wonder \u2013 are we like this in our lives today too?\u00a0 Maybe we go through periods of time where we don\u2019t go to church because it means we might have to actually start living our lives like Christians due to the community that church provides?\u00a0 I am always worried when I get to points in my life where I don\u2019t feel like going to church.\u00a0 It is in those moments that I realize how desperately I need church \u2013 and yet how I\u2019m trying to avoid going.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to change some behavior.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want people to see me for who I really am.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to be too close to the \u201cTemple\u201d\u2026\u00a0 How about you.\u00a0 If you\u2019re called to \u201cmove to Jerusalem\u201d by God, will you move?\u00a0 In the words of a famous Switchfoot song, \u201cI dare you to move.\u201d Below is a nice map of Jerusalem in Nehemiah\u2019s time:<\/span><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span><strong>Worship Video:\u00a0 <\/strong>Today\u2019s readings reminded me of Casting Crowns\u2019 song \u201cVoice of Truth.\u201d This is such a beautiful song\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Do you know the Voice of Truth?<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">Click here and receive beautiful Truth!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\"><strong>Comments from You:<\/strong>\u00a0 What verses or insights stand out to you in today\u2019s readings?\u00a0 Please post up by clicking on the \u201cComments\u201d link below!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">God bless,<br \/>Mike<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1.2em\">p.s.
