Famed podcaster Joe Rogan said on a recent episode of his show he likes attending church services.<\/p>\n
The UFC commentator, known for his eponymously named podcast,\u00a0has been attending church services\u00a0now for several months and said last week he finds it encouraging to be around Christians working to better understand Scripture.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a bunch of people that are going to try to make their lives better, trying to be a better person,\u201d Rogan said last Wednesday. \u201cI mean, for me \u2014 at least the place that I go to \u2014 they read and analyze passages in the Bible. I\u2019m really interested in what these people were trying to say, because I don\u2019t think it\u2019s nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also said \u201catheists and secular people\u201d who jump to dismiss the veracity of the Bible are not as bright as they might believe themselves to be.<\/p>\n
Rogan said, \u201cI hear that among self-professed intelligent people, like, \u2018It\u2019s a fairy tale.\u2019 I don\u2019t know that\u2019s true. I think I think there\u2019s more to it. I think it\u2019s history, but I think it\u2019s a confusing history. It\u2019s a confusing history because it was a long time ago, and it\u2019s people telling things in an oral tradition and writing things down in a language that you don\u2019t understand, in the context of a culture that you don\u2019t understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
He made similar comments on May,\u00a0casting doubt\u00a0on evolutionary theory.\u00a0<\/p>\n
At the time, he said, \u201cIt\u2019s funny, because people will be incredulous about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, but, yet, they\u2019re convinced that the entire universe was smaller than a head of a pin and that for no reason that anyone has adequately explained to me, instantaneously became everything?\u201d<\/p>\n
Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Rogan this month called Christianity \u201cthe most fascinating\u201d of the world\u2019s religions, because it centers on the life, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n \u201cChristianity in particular is the most fascinating to me,\u201d he said, \u201cbecause there\u2019s this one person that everybody agrees existed, that, somehow or another, had the best plan for how human beings should interact with each other and behave.\u201d<\/p>\n The popular podcast host said he is intrigued by Jesus\u2019 character and that fact that He willingly went to the cross.<\/p>\n \u201cHe didn\u2019t even protest,\u201d said Rogan. \u201c[He] died on the cross, supposedly for our sins. It\u2019s a fascinating story. What does it represent, though? That\u2019s the real thing. What was that? What happened? Who was Jesus Christ, if it was a human being. What was that?
