A good Samaritan is being praised for helping save a police officer stabbed Saturday outside a restaurant in Salisbury, North Carolina.<\/p>\n
Listen to the latest\u00a0episode\u00a0of \u201cQuick Start\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n The incident unfolded when Salisbury police were reportedly called to a Cook Out restaurant around 8 p.m. to address an issue unfolding there.<\/p>\n When they arrived, an individual allegedly began swinging a knife at two officers,\u00a0WBTV-TV reported.<\/p>\n This violence reportedly put one of the cops in danger, and a bystander is said to have jumped in and \u201clikely saved the officer\u2019s life.\u201d This hero was cut several times during the scuffle.<\/p>\n The accused individual was subsequently tased and arrested and\u00a0faces numerous charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon and assault on a government official with a dangerous weapon.<\/p>\n Salisbury Police Chief Patrick Smith\u00a0issued a statement\u00a0expressing gratitude to the hero who assisted and very likely prevented the situation from further deteriorating.<\/p>\n \u201cI am thankful for the citizen who stepped in to help,\u201d Smith said. \u201cHis act of bravery likely saved an officer\u2019s life. We are relieved that both our officer and this Good Samaritan are recovering.\u201d<\/p>\n Pray for those involved.
