Those were the words of a hunter who recently went missing and found himself lost in the woods of California.<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Ron Dailey, 65, wandered for 20 days and was found alive Saturday after initially planning just a one-day hunting expedition in the Sierra National Forest, ABC7\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n
When Dailey didn\u2019t return home, his family contacted authorities, and a search commenced. He found himself with a destroyed vehicle and no way to navigate out of the situation.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, Dailey had enough food for around two weeks and used his car as\u00a0shelter.<\/p>\n
At first, he waited for help, but he told ABC7 he came to a realization: \u201cYou either try to walk out or you\u2019re going to sit here and die.\u201d<\/p>\n
Over his weeks in the woods, he lost his phone, trekked miles, and relied heavily on prayer. And it was that invoking of God that helped him get through \u2014 even when the situation seemed impossible.<\/p>\n
Dailey started praying for a miracle as soon as his legs began to give out,\u00a0according to\u00a0The New York Post.<\/p>\n
\u201cI can\u2019t hardly walk anymore, Lord, you gotta help me Father God,\u201d Dailey\u00a0told God, noting what happened next. \u201cI raised my head up, there was a car with headlights on and I go, \u2018Oh God, thank you, Lord.’\u201d<\/p>\n
Other hunters found him last weekend, and\u00a0he\u2019s now being monitored\u00a0by doctors.<\/p>\n
His wife, Glenda, reportedly also relied on prayer every day he was missing,\u00a0posting\u00a0flyers to Facebook to try to raise awareness.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to thank everyone for all the support and love that we received while we patiently waited for Ron,\u201d she wrote on Facebook. \u201cGod has answered the prayers of so many of us. He is going to be shocked when I show him all of the people who searched for him. He is resting and will share what happened very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n
She\u00a0concluded\u00a0her message with a powerful reminder: \u201cGod still does miracles, and we have just been shown one.\u201d<\/p>\n
