{"id":9958,"date":"2025-11-09T18:13:38","date_gmt":"2025-11-09T18:13:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=9958"},"modified":"2025-11-09T18:13:38","modified_gmt":"2025-11-09T18:13:38","slug":"supreme-court-blocks-snap-funding-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/biblelon.com\/?p=9958","title":{"rendered":"Supreme Court Blocks SNAP Funding Order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n              <span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time:<\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the Supreme Court stepped in to deliver yet another key victory to President Trump, blocking a lower court order requiring the President\u2019s administration to fully fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during the government shutdown.\n<\/p>\n<h4>Post a prayer for your state!<\/h4>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From Fox News:\n<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Supreme Court issued a temporary block on Friday on a lower court\u2019s order requiring the Trump administration to fully fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program amid the government shutdown.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Jack McConnell rejected the administration\u2019s effort to only partially fund the benefits program for some 42 million low-income Americans for November as the shutdown drags on, giving the government 24 hours to comply.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u2026\n<\/p>\n<p>After the appeals court ruling, the\u00a0Trump administration filed the emergency appeal to SCOTUS late Friday.<\/p>\n<p><span data-teams=\"true\">As the government shutdown continues, SNAP funding has taken center stage. Funding for the program lapsed on November 1, a fact Fox notes is a historic first in the program\u2019s 60-year history.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>Judges have fought to force the President to fully fund SNAP for the duration of November. Though the Trump administration sought to appeal, it has met obstacle after obstacle. In fact, shortly before the Supreme Court\u2019s ruling, an appeals court denied the administration\u2019s request to block the lower court ruling mandating the funding of SNAP.\n<\/p>\n<p>The longer the shutdown continues, the more programs like SNAP will dry up.
