Protests held across the nation over the weekend escalated into violence and raised serious concerns about the influence of radical ideologies in America. What began as demonstrations quickly turned chaotic in several major cities.

“No Kings” protests descended into chaos across multiple cities as demonstrators attacked federal officers and a faction in New York City openly called for communist revolution Saturday.
Tens of thousands filled Manhattan streets. Near Times Square, a group waving red hammer-and-sickle flags chanted “there is only one solution, communist revolution,” the New York Post reported. Actor Robert De Niro and New York Attorney General Letitia James attended the demonstrations. The NYPD reported zero protest-related arrests.
In Los Angeles, the Department of Homeland Security said roughly 1,000 agitators encircled the Roybal Federal Building and pelted officers with rocks, bottles and concrete blocks, Fox News Digital reported. Two DHS officers required medical attention, and First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli warned that anyone who assaulted law enforcement would face federal felony charges.
These protests were not isolated or spontaneous events, but part of a broader, coordinated movement. Reports indicate that roughly 500 organizations—including communist and socialist groups—helped organize the demonstrations. Groups such as the Communist Party USA and the Democratic Socialists of America were among those involved, raising concerns about the growing influence of ideologies that have historically opposed freedom, faith, and democratic governance.
The violence seen in cities like Los Angeles, Portland, and Dallas highlights the real-world consequences of these movements. Federal officers were attacked, property was damaged, and even symbols of the nation—like the American flag—were desecrated. In Portland, protesters reportedly breached a federal facility, while in Dallas, clashes between demonstrators and counter-protesters required police intervention.
