From Fox News:
President Donald Trump on Tuesday signed a sweeping executive order targeting mail-in voting and voter eligibility, calling the move a major step toward restoring confidence in U.S. elections. Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said the order is focused on “voter integrity and Mail-In ballots” and on “stopping the massive cheating that’s gone on.”
“We’re going to be signing an executive order,” Trump said. “It’s, I believe it’s foolproof… I think it’s very obvious what’s said.” The order directs federal agencies to work with states to compile lists of eligible voters using federal citizenship and identity data, while also instructing the U.S. Postal Service to develop new safeguards for mail-in ballots, including barcode tracking and verification measures.
Under the order, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) working with the Social Security Administration and other federal databases, will create and share “State Citizenship Lists” with state election officials. The lists are intended to identify individuals confirmed to be U.S. citizens who will be at least 18 years old by the time of a federal election and who reside in that state.
President Trump’s order represents one of the most significant federal efforts in recent years to address concerns about election integrity, particularly surrounding mail-in voting. As IFA intercessors know, widespread mail voting has created opportunities for fraud. This executive action is an answer to our prayers for stronger safeguards, emphasizing verification, tracking, and accountability in the voting process.
The proposal to create citizenship-based voter lists and track ballots through barcode technology reflects a broader push for transparency and confidence in elections. For many Americans, trust in election outcomes has been shaken in recent years, and this measure is an attempt to restore that trust by ensuring that only eligible citizens are voting and that every ballot can be accounted for.
Opposition to the order was immediate, with officials in states like Arizona already signaling legal challenges and arguing that election administration should remain under state control. Still, President Trump framed the issue in foundational terms, arguing that without honest elections, the integrity of the nation itself is at stake.
For intercessors, this development underscores the importance of praying for truth, integrity, and transparency in America’s elections. Let’s pray that our election systems would be secure, that leaders would act with wisdom and righteousness, and that the will of the people would be accurately and honestly represented.
