“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.” John 11:25 (KJV)

Easter is about life. It all comes down to one defining truth: Jesus is either Lord, or He was not telling the truth. The resurrection settles that question.

If the story ended with a body in a tomb, then everything falls apart. A corpse does not inspire courage. A corpse does not transform fear into bold faith. Yet something undeniable happened after the resurrection.

Consider Simon Peter. Overcome by fear, He once denied Jesus three times. But after encountering the risen Christ, he stood boldly on the Day of Pentecost and preached, and thousands were saved (Acts 2:41). What changed? It was not a memory. It was not a myth. It was a living Savior.

Think about Thomas, who doubted and questioned. Yet after seeing the risen Jesus, he became so convinced that he carried the gospel across nations and ultimately gave his life rather than deny what he had seen. These men did not suffer and die for a dead body. They gave everything because they had encountered the risen Christ.

Scripture tells us that Jesus appeared to many after His resurrection, proving that He was alive (1 Corinthians 15:6). He ate with them. He spoke with them. He walked among them. This was not a symbol for imagination. This was life.

And this is why the resurrection matters so deeply to you. Because if He did not come out of the grave, then you will not either. But because He lives, you have hope beyond death. The Bible declares, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22, KJV).

The risen Jesus showed what is to come. He rose with a glorified body—free from pain, sickness, and decay. A body that could move beyond earthly limits, yet still speak, still eat, and still be recognized. This is a glimpse of your future in Him. Scripture promises, “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body” (Philippians 3:21, KJV).

Death is a reality every person will face. From the first loss in the book of Genesis until now, it has touched every generation. But Easter changes the meaning of death. It is no longer the end. It is a doorway.

Jesus did not rise as a symbol of hope. He rose as the source of it. Because He walked out of that grave, you can face tomorrow without fear. Because He lives, life wins.

Prayer: Lord, thank You that Jesus is alive. Thank You that the resurrection is not a story but a reality that gives me hope. Help me to live with confidence, knowing that death is not the end and that life in You is eternal. Strengthen my faith in the risen Savior. Amen.
