Brenda Jackson-Little has been connected and praying with IFA for over fifteen years, before she stepped into her role as the IFA North Carolina State Leader. Although also a Pastor and PK (Pastor’s kid), her heart is burdened to see God move through our government. Her heart’s cry for her state and our nation has been, “More Lord.” And since the rededication, they are already getting praise reports.

Find out when your state prays.

IFA North Carolina rededicated their state to the Lord on Friday, April 24th, 2026, in the State Capitol city of Raleigh, in their legislative building. Senate and Congressional meetings, hearings, and conferences are held in this building.

Brenda said that location is where all the decisions affecting North Carolinians are made. It was, rightly, the perfect place for the rededication of the entire state.

A prayer ministry that has functioned out of the Capitol for many years partnered with Brenda during the rededication event. Since Brenda lives five hours (round trip) away from the Capitol, they were essential in making connections and planning the event. In fact, many organizations were grateful to partner with IFA for this rededication. “We were supported by Sharon Pearce and the North Carolina Prayer Caucus, and the Billy Graham Library historian helped with the historical NC household of faith legacy. The NC National Day of Prayer Director and Frederick Douglass Foundation representative attended, just to name a few. There were senators, representatives, and we had one of our congressmen in Washington involved in getting things done,” Brenda said.

“North Carolina intercessors showed up ready. I have prayed with some of these intercessors for years. I was finally able to meet them face-to-face and connect. They came from all over the state. The room held a maximum capacity of 93, and it was full.

“Our event was set up with tiers. So first, we began by building a place for the Lord. We had such anointed worship from the House of Prayer team in Raleigh. We sang worship songs like “Holy is the Lamb ‘‘, “How Great Thou Art”, and Agnes Dei.’ People were singing with hands lifted, worshipping the Lord. At the end of the event, the whole room sang. “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” The second tier was repentance. The NC Prayer Caucus took up topics to pray about and ask for repentance for the shedding of innocent blood, covenant-breaking, immorality, and more.  Repentance causes God to remove the reproach and gives us a heart of resolve.  We went through repentance and renunciation. When they were done, you could feel the release in the room. The weight of the Lord came in and filled the place.”

“After repentance, we broke into prayer pods of 7-8 people, and asked the intercessors to pray, and it was powerful. All this was building up to the moment when the proclamation was read. The senator came to read the proclamation and rededicate everything back to Him. At the end of the event, we made announcements about upcoming events and provided a place of communion for those who wanted to partake. Everyone there agreed that this was a prophetic moment for our state. This moment was sealed by God.

“I asked one of my state representatives whether anything like the rededication had been done before; he said he could not recall anything like it. It was a spiritually and historically rich moment for North Carolina. A rededication has never happened before. As part of the event, guests signed a witness document that has now become part of the official records,” Brenda said.

“For weeks leading up to this event, our IFA NC group prayed that God’s glory would fill the place, and He did. I said, God, no matter what happens, all I want is for Your Presence to be there and you to be glorified. And He answered, the event was powerful, and the Presence of the Lord was manifest. God was in it from day one, through the planning, on the day of the event, and since the event. God has been involved in all of it. It was a holy moment for North Carolina.”

Afterward, guests came by and thanked Brenda. One woman from a major organization in North Carolina emailed Brenda to thank her for putting the rededication together. She said it was phenomenal, complimenting the prayer group and worship. She received many praise emails.

Since the event, it’s only been one week. Brenda has seen answers to prayers. “On our IFA North Carolina State Prayer Calls, our number one topic is elected officials, followed by Pastors and churches, and other topics dealing with our state issues.”

“One thing has happened since rededication, May 2nd, hasn’t even been two weeks. I got confirmation on something we have been praying about for the last four years. 1 Timothy 2:1:4 is foundational as we intercede for our elected officials. We include spiritual leaders. We get requests for prayer from pastors who are burned out and need prayer for their families, and other issues. One pastor from a large church in the region said they are now seeing fewer pastors leaving the pulpit, and I thanked God because we have been carrying that one. When we come together as a prayer group, I always say we are casting a prayer tent across the state, as we cover many prayer points during that call,” Brenda said.

“Because of this event, I now have stronger connections and relationships with some of our senators and other elected officials to build on in the future. We have also received additional invitations from other organizations to participate. We have been contacted by other leaders of movements in North Carolina, some of whom are aligned with political candidates seeking to align with IFA for prayer. I believe we will see more of this for the next election.

I am optimistic about the future. During that event, praying over our state and the key things we needed to pray for. I felt that God was saying out of this room today, a change will spring forth across the state. Even after repentance, I felt an opening in the atmosphere of the spirit realm. I see the opportunity even greater for a reawakening; we have always been a Spirit-led state. I see a spiritual reawakening brought on by the rededication. For our state, I see greater fruit coming in all parts of our state. I see a greater grace in North Carolina, reawakening in all aspects of the state, not just government, but churches, and families, a greater grace on all of that. Greater health and greater life flow come from the church.”

Father, we thank you for the unity between intercessory streams and elected officials in North Carolina to rededicate their state to you. We thank you for Your great and precious promises in Your word. You said in 2 Chronicles 7:14, that if Your people who are called by Your name, will fast and pray and humble ourselves, turn from our wicked ways and seek Your face, You will heal our land. We thank you that North Carolina, as a state, seized this precious moment to do so, and we know that it will not return void. But it will accomplish what it was sent to do.

We agree that greater grace is coming to North Carolina, and Lord, do it in every state that is turning its face and state back to you. We agree that reawakening is coming to North Carolina, and it’s beginning in Your church. Let it sweep throughout the nation. We pray for the connections made and that You will continue to open doors and partnerships, to see Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in America as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Share your prayers for North Caroline, as well as your own state, in the comments.
