As tensions with Iran continue to escalate, President Trump says the United States came within one hour of launching another major military strike before pausing for negotiations. At the same time, Iran is issuing new demands, threatening American and Israeli leaders, and continuing to support attacks against U.S. forces and allies throughout the Middle East.

President Trump revealed that the U.S. stood just one hour away from launching another military strike against Iran before holding back for negotiations. Now, Tehran is issuing new demands, Congress is hearing fresh warnings about Iranian aggression, and the regime’s lawmakers are escalating threats against American and Israeli leaders.
As he has typically done over the past several weeks, Trump’s latest postponement came with a warning, and he commented, “I hope we don’t have to do the war, but we may have to give them another big hit.”
Speaking at the White House on Tuesday, he stated, “I was an hour away. We were all set to go.” He added, “The boats, the ships were all loaded, they’re loaded to the brim, and we’re all set to start.”
The latest developments highlight just how fragile the situation in the Middle East remains. While the Trump administration has repeatedly emphasized its desire to avoid a prolonged conflict, officials are also making clear that the United States is fully prepared to respond if negotiations collapse or Iran continues its aggression.
Vice President JD Vance reinforced that message, stressing that America is “locked and loaded” if military action becomes necessary. Meanwhile, CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper warned lawmakers that Iranian-backed terror groups have launched hundreds of attacks against American troops and diplomats throughout the region, resulting in multiple deaths and nearly 200 injuries.
At the same time, Iran’s regime continues to push demands that include lifting sanctions, withdrawing U.S. troops, and easing pressure on its regional allies — all while reportedly avoiding meaningful discussion about its nuclear ambitions. Particularly alarming are reports that Iran’s parliament may consider legislation offering a financial reward for the assassination of President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and senior U.S. military leaders.
These threats come as lawmakers in Washington are also confronting rising antisemitism in the aftermath of the October 7 Hamas attacks and the ongoing conflict in the region. Senators James Lankford and Jacky Rosen have introduced bipartisan legislation aimed at strengthening protections for Jewish students, synagogues, and community organizations amid growing concerns about violence and hate targeting Jewish Americans.
In this critical hour, we should continue praying for peace and wisdom, as well as for the protection of American troops, Israeli citizens, and innocent civilians caught in the midst of growing instability. Let’s also pray that evil plans would be exposed and stopped before more lives are lost.
