On Thursday, April 9, 2026, IFA Alabama State Leader Anne Cox, Co-State Leader Sally Reynolds, and intercessors gathered in Alabama’s Supreme Court to rededicate Alabama to God. Supreme Court Justice William Sellers, who facilitated everything, Supreme Court Justice Greg Cook, and former Chief Justice Tom Parker contributed. April 9th was the day a form of justice that had been missing since 1980. The Ten Commandments were removed from classrooms, a decision voted on by the Alabama Legislature. That day, a prayer was answered.

Have you taken your place on the wall?

“The intercessors recounted and prayed for laborers in Montgomery and throughout Alabama who would follow the example set by previous pastors and church leaders who led a renewed commitment to biblical truth. This is important because we need churches to be bold in speaking about culture and government issues.  Congregations must be aware of and informed about the culture and how Christianity should shape government if we want our nation to thrive with positive agendas.

Much of Alabama’s history gives witness to this ‘first’ calling, as it was the state that initiated a call to the separate states to join in Montgomery to form the Southern nation. Alabama is known as ‘the Heart of Dixie’. It is significant in scripture and implies a priestly role, serving as a voice of morality. In our rededication, we proclaimed a return to our state’s purpose.

In 1943, during World War II, Alabama was the first and possibly only state to officially call for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. The unanimous joint resolution from the Alabama legislature led the way in the US and eventually the UN, five years before Israel became a nation. Alabama again led the way in 2002 when the legislature did the same, urging President Bush to support Israel during a rising Palestinian conflict, drawing international attention after the terrorism of 9/11. At one time, it was said that the only flag to fly in the Knesset in Israel, other than the national flag, was the flag of the state of Alabama.

We reclaimed the heritage that is strong in our state, as Alabama’s name came from the language of a Native American tribe. The Choctaw tongue (Alba, “a thick vegetation” and amo “to clear”) means preparing the way.  We know that our history isn’t perfect; there was injustice. Without justifying the past, we must see that the characteristics of this gift, when aligned with God’s love and righteousness, can glorify Jesus Christ as it serves others with godly intention. Throughout history, Alabama has been a catalyst for the birth of movements, such as those led by Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

It takes courage to stand when God’s justice is threatened. Weakness is often revealed at that moment. That is the time when we are called to stand for the principle or the individual that must be defended. God calls us to stand and speak the Truth of the Word as we defend it and the principle it projects.

God created the Earth. He created the first man, Adam, and his helpmate, Eve, the first female. They had children, male and female, and God established the law and the Ten Commandments. I believe that Justice is the focus of so many things happening in our nation right now. Our rededicating in Alabama in the Supreme Court was IFA Intercessors and God’s people standing for justice for our state,” Anne said.
Alabama State Leader Anne Cox and former Chief Justice Tom Parker praying to rededicate the Supreme Court.

What made Alabama’s Spiritual Heritage Project Rededication so special was intercessors praying together through their state’s history, and Judge Parker recounting God’s promises, releasing prophetic proclamations and decrees over Alabama that were issued in the first decade of this century and are now being fulfilled. The location in the Supreme Court, joined by three justices, was not only symbolic of unity but also a prophetic picture of justice, which Anne said she believes is the greatest need in our nation right now.

On the same day as the Rededication, April 9th, the Alabama Legislature voted to post the Ten Commandments once again in schools and public places. Thank you, Lord. These rededications happening across America are seeing answers to prayer and the fruit of years of faithful intercession.

Since the rededication, Anne said she is seeing two of the seven decrees Justice Parker proclaimed for Alabama unfold.  Intercessors prayed that the sevenfold Spirit of God, as described in Isaiah 11:2, would sweep through the state, bringing awakening.  Most recently, the Revival in Birmingham at Samford University showed that a spiritual awakening is happening.

The second decree centered on true justice and the establishment of God’s rule in Alabama. “Justice is a word I keep hearing for the nation, keep contending for justice. It is the key; I don’t know how everything will fit together. This is a year that God is freeing his people from things that have been holding us down. We must have our spiritual eyes open and our hearts open to the opportunities that God is giving us,” Anne said.

    Alabama Contends for Justice

Right now, Alabama is in the midst of a redistricting battle. I asked Anne how intercessors can join them in praying. She asked for two things.

    • Pray that this redistricting will accomplish what God wants and open the door for righteous voting once again. We want God’s vote!

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

    • Pray for Pastors and churches to be bold, to get the word out, and to inform their congregants on how to vote for righteousness.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”(Joshua 1:9).

Would you agree with us in praying for Alabama’s redistricting and for justice to be established in America?

He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle. Finally, he will cause justice to be victorious. And his name will be the hope of all the world. (Matthew 12:20-21 NLT).

How are you praying for the nation?
