As artificial intelligence rapidly becomes a primary source of information for millions of Americans, growing concerns are emerging over political bias, media influence, and the reliability of popular AI chatbots. Critics warn that these systems may be shaping public opinion through selectively sourced information and ideologically skewed responses — raising serious questions about truth, transparency, and trust in the digital age.

Find out when your state prays.

    From Fox News:

Artificial intelligence chatbots are relying on left-wing media and politically charged sources, making it difficult for the average American to trust them as a news source, critics say.

AI systems are widely known to sometimes “hallucinate” and generate false-yet-believable information that can quickly erode trust. Some critics insist chatbots such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude provide information with a liberal slant, or push information from left-leaning news sources while silencing opposing views.

As more and more Americans rely on the technology, the right-leaning Media Research Center (MRC) has conducted studies in an attempt to determine if the chatbots should be relied upon — and they don’t find the results encouraging.

The debate surrounding AI bias has intensified in recent months as more Americans — especially younger generations — turn to chatbots instead of traditional search engines or news outlets. According to Pew Research Center, more than half of teenagers now use AI chatbots to search for information, despite widespread concerns about inaccuracy and misinformation. Critics argue that this growing dependence gives AI companies tremendous influence over how people understand current events, politics, and culture.

Concerns have also been raised over the ideological leanings of the people and organizations behind these systems. OpenAI and Anthropic executives have reportedly maintained close ties to Democrat political circles, while Elon Musk’s xAI has positioned Grok as a more transparent alternative by allowing users to see source material directly. Media watchdogs say the lack of transparency among many AI systems creates a “black box” effect, making it difficult for users to understand why certain viewpoints are prioritized while others are minimized or ignored altogether.

Others warn that AI bias could have especially serious implications for Christians and conservatives as these technologies increasingly shape public discourse. Examples cited in the Fox News report include chatbots allegedly downplaying controversial stories involving Democrat candidates while elevating favorable coverage from left-leaning outlets. Critics say this pattern mirrors long-standing accusations of bias within traditional media institutions — only now amplified through emerging technology that many people mistakenly assume is neutral or objective.

As artificial intelligence becomes more deeply integrated into daily life, many believers are urging discernment and wisdom in how these tools are used. Technology can be valuable, but it should never replace careful thinking, biblical truth, or the ability to evaluate information critically through a godly lens.

How should Christians respond to the growing influence of AI in shaping culture and public opinion? Share your thoughts and prayers below.
