From Breitbart:
The United States carried out new strikes on southern Iran on Thursday, after President Donald Trump threatened to “finish the job” if Tehran did not agree to a peace deal.
Iranian media reported three loud explosions rang out in the port city of Bandar Abbas in the early hours of Thursday morning, following US strikes earlier in the week that underscored the fragile state of a diplomatic push to get a provisional peace agreement across the finish line.
“Today, US Central Command Forces shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones that posed a threat around the Strait of Hormuz,” a US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said in a statement to AFP.
The renewed military action comes as negotiations between Iran and the United States remain deadlocked over several major issues, including Iran’s nuclear program and control of the Strait of Hormuz — one of the world’s most critical shipping routes for oil and gas. Iranian officials have continued issuing mixed signals, publicly downplaying the likelihood of war while simultaneously warning that their military remains fully prepared for further conflict.
Meanwhile, the conflict has continued spilling into neighboring Lebanon, where Israel has intensified operations against Hezbollah. Evacuation orders issued in southern Lebanon this week have forced many civilians to flee as fears grow that the fighting could broaden into a larger regional war.
The instability surrounding the Strait of Hormuz has also raised serious economic concerns worldwide. Energy markets have reacted sharply to reports of renewed strikes, and economists warn that prolonged disruption in the region could increase inflation, raise energy prices, and further strain global economies already facing uncertainty.
These developments are another sobering reminder of the volatility of world affairs and the urgent need for prayer. Let’s pray for wisdom for world leaders, protection for innocent civilians caught in the conflict, and restraint among nations as tensions continue to rise in one of the world’s most dangerous regions.
