In late August, Daniel Kroll and Stephen Gerling and their families arrived in Dakar, Senegal. They are the first WELS missionaries to serve in this area.
As WELS works to establish this new mission field, the first step for the Gerlings and Krolls is a six-month immersion experience designed to prepare them for life and ministry among the Wolof people.
In six months, WELS World Missions leaders will meet with the Gerlings and Krolls to determine what makes sense for the mission as a next step after the missionaries have learned more about the Wolof people.
“We ask for prayers for wisdom, endurance, and patience,” says Kroll. “This is so much in God’s hands.”
