With nearly 1,900 churches in Chicago proper, finding a church home can feel overwhelming. When Kyle Boone moved into the city permanently after graduating college, he knew he wanted to continue following Jesus, but the search was not easy.
“The example my parents set was a big reason I wanted to stay connected to church,” Kyle says. “I’ve seen firsthand how influential Christ is in their lives, and I wanted that, too. But searching for a church in the city was a struggle. I often left wondering whether the message was really pointing us in the right direction.”
Finally, a friend helped change that. Kyle works alongside fellow Loyola University alum Nathanael in the university’s athletic department, Kyle, as a graphic designer, and Nathanael, as a videographer. “I definitely have Nathanael to thank for bringing up Crossroads. I heard him talking about it and asked if I could join him.” And the rest was history; Kyle officially joined Crossroads in February 2026.
Kyle did not wait long to get involved. As a mission restart, Crossroads was rebranding, including a new logo and social media presence. Nathanael oversees the church’s social accounts, and when it came time to design a logo, Kyle was a natural fit.
Kyle was led to Jesus and is now leading others to Jesus. His parents pointed him in the right direction. A friend led him to a church grounded in that truth. And now, Kyle is ready to lead others in the right direction at Crossroads.
