The White House Faith Office is marking roughly 18 months of work inside the Trump administration, with Faith Director Jennifer Korn saying the office remains focused on protecting religious liberty, addressing alleged discrimination, and ensuring that people of faith are able to participate openly in government and public life.

    From The Epoch Times:

Korn said the West Wing office, which was launched 18 months ago, is committed to protecting religious freedom within the federal government, including rooting out discrimination and elevating the voice of public servants of faith.

“We’re here to say that you’re allowed to talk about your religion freely, whether it’s at work or whether it’s in your home or in the public square,” Korn said in a recent interview on people of faith in government with NTD Television’s “Capitol Report.”

“The president has made it very clear that we are there 24/7 for people of all faiths,” she said.

President Donald Trump established the White House Faith Office by executive order in February 2025, placing it within the Domestic Policy Council. The order tasked the office with working across the executive branch to protect religious liberty, consult with faith and community leaders, advise the president on policies affecting faith-based organizations, and coordinate with federal agencies. Agencies without an established Center for Faith were also directed to appoint faith liaisons.

Since then, the administration has pursued a broad religious-liberty agenda. According to the White House, its initiatives have included the Religious Liberty Commission, a Justice Department Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias, protections against antisemitism, expanded religious accommodations, and other policies involving faith in schools, workplaces, the military, and federal programs. The White House has published a list of 150 actions it says demonstrate the administration’s work on behalf of religious freedom.

Korn told NTD that officials were surprised by the number of cases and policies they believed required attention. Among the issues highlighted by the administration were service members separated over COVID-19 vaccine requirements and pro-life activists prosecuted under the previous administration. The administration has reinstated some service members and President Trump pardoned pro-life activists convicted in cases involving protests at abortion facilities.

The administration’s Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias also produced the documentary By Dawn’s Early Light, which examines allegations of government discrimination against Christians and other people of faith. The film draws on the task force’s findings and uses the story of Fort McHenry and the War of 1812 as a historical backdrop for its discussion of religious liberty.

The Faith Office’s work also extends beyond domestic policy. Korn pointed to international religious persecution, including the case of Chinese pastor Ezra Jin, and said other nations continue to look to the United States for leadership on religious freedom. The office has additionally worked with federal immigration officials on issues involving houses of worship and religious workers, according to Korn.

Scripture calls us to pray for those in authority so that we may live “a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way” (1 Timothy 2:2). As the federal government considers the place of faith and religious liberty in public life, let’s pray that constitutional freedoms are protected for all Americans and that those serving in government exercise wisdom, justice, and integrity.
